LACE Auction May 6-21, 2009

I've been invited to donate an artwork to the annual Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) art auction. Its quite the prestigious affair, with many of North America's top artists participating to support this venerable L.A. artist-run-center/gallery.

This year curators from the Tate and Whitney museum are curating the auction.
I am humbled that I've been asked to participate, and honored to be a part of this worthy cause.

I'm donating one of my favorite artworks that I still have in my possession, and also one of the pieces that it seems other people enjoy the most as well. It is part of a series of four drawings I did while driving, retracing the footsteps of Jack Nicholson's character in the film Chinatown. It has twice appeared in curated shows alongside Ed Ruscha, and once next to Robert Rauschenberg.
